  1Gbps Network Patch Cord

The 1Gbps network patch cord is a flexible, high-performance solution designed to deliver stable 1 Gigabit per second speeds, catering to the needs of enterprise offices, small-to-medium data centers, and high-bandwidth residential networks. It balances speed, reliability, and cost, making it suitable for a wide range of applications—from video conferencing and cloud collaboration in offices to 4K streaming and NAS (Network Attached Storage) access in homes. Unlike 100Mbps cords that bottleneck under heavy loads, 1Gbps cords handle bandwidth-intensive tasks with ease while remaining compatible with legacy 100Mbps devices, making it one of the most widely used networking components.

This cord is primarily built to Cat6 or Cat6a specifications. Cat6 variants feature four unshielded twisted pairs (UTP) of 23AWG or 24AWG copper conductors with a twist rate of 22–28 TPI, ideal for office environments where interference is minimal. Cat6a variants, by contrast, use shielded designs (FTP or STP) and a tighter twist rate (26–32 TPI) to enhance interference resistance, making them suitable for dense data centers or industrial offices near machinery. The copper conductors are usually oxygen-free copper (OFC), improving electrical conductivity and reducing signal attenuation—≤4.5 dB at 250 MHz for Cat6, ≤6.0 dB at 500 MHz for Cat6a—enabling 1Gbps performance over distances up to 100 meters.

The outer jacket is made of durable, flame-retardant material: PVC for cost-sensitive indoor applications or LSZH for spaces like hospitals, schools, or data centers where fire safety is paramount. It is flexible enough for easy routing through walls, ceilings, or cable trays, while still withstanding regular handling. Connectors are high-quality RJ45 with gold-plated contacts (100–200 microinches) to prevent corrosion and ensure reliable connections. Many models include a strain relief boot to prevent fraying and a snagless design to avoid catching on other cables.

Compliant with TIA/EIA-568-C.2 and ISO/IEC 11801, the 1Gbps patch cord is compatible with all 1Gbps-enabled hardware, from Gigabit switches and laptops to smart TVs and gaming consoles. It is available in lengths from 0.3 meters (desktop-to-router runs) to 100 meters (office-to-server links) and color-coded (e.g., red, green) for easy management. Its future-proofing (Cat6a supports 10Gbps over short distances) adds long-term value, making it an indispensable choice for modern networks.
