Cat7 Double-Shielded Network Patch Cord

The Cat7 double-shielded network patch cord is engineered to deliver uncompromised signal integrity in high-interference environments, combining Cat7’s 10 Gbps speed and 600 MHz bandwidth with a dual-shielding design—a significant upgrade over single-shielded or unshielded alternatives. Unlike basic shielded cables (e.g., FTP), this double-shielded version uses an S/FTP (Screened/Foil Twisted Pair) structure: an inner foil shield wraps around each individual twisted copper pair, and an outer braided shield (usually tinned copper) covers all four pairs. This dual layer creates a “double barrier” against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), making it ideal for mission-critical applications like financial data centers, healthcare imaging systems, industrial control networks, and broadcast studios—where even minor signal disruptions can cause costly downtime.

Beneath the shields, the cord retains Cat7’s high-performance core: 22AWG or 23AWG high-purity copper conductors twisted tightly to minimize crosstalk, ensuring stable 10 Gbps transmission over distances of up to 100 meters. The inner foil shield eliminates pair-to-pair crosstalk, while the outer braided shield blocks external interference from sources like power lines, server racks, or industrial machinery. This level of protection is especially crucial in dense cabling environments—for example, a data center with hundreds of parallel cables, where EMI from adjacent cords could degrade signal quality.

The double-shielded design also enhances durability. The outer braided shield adds physical strength to the cable, resisting damage from frequent handling or accidental impacts, while the inner foil shield protects the delicate copper pairs from moisture or dust. The jacket, typically made of LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) or heavy-duty PVC, meets fire safety standards (e.g., UL 94 V-0) and resists chemical wear, making it suitable for both indoor and semi-harsh industrial settings.

Compliant with ISO/IEC 11801 Class F and IEEE 802.3an standards, the Cat7 double-shielded patch cord is compatible with all Cat7-rated hardware, from high-speed switches to storage area networks (SANs). It is available in lengths from 1 meter (for rack-mounted devices) to 20 meters (for longer critical runs), with color-coded jackets for easy identification of critical connections (e.g., red for emergency systems). For organizations that prioritize absolute signal reliability over cost, this cord offers the ultimate protection for high-speed, mission-critical networks.
