  The multi-mode dual-core network patch cord is a practical fiber-optic solution that combines two independent multi-mode fibers (50/125um or 62.5/125um) in a single jacket, enabling symmetric bidirectional data transmission for short-haul high-bandwidth applications. Unlike simplex multi-mode cords (which require two cables for bidirectional communication), the dual-core design integrates transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) channels into one cable—reducing cable clutter, simplifying installation, and cutting down on material costs. This makes it ideal for data centers, enterprise offices, and SME networks where devices are spaced within 550 meters (the maximum 10 Gbps distance for OM4 fiber) and bidirectional communication is critical, such as server-to-switch connections, SAN links, and high-definition video streaming.

  Leveraging multi-mode fiber’s strengths, this dual-core cord supports high data rates (up to 100 Gbps with OM5 fiber) over short distances, working with cost-effective VCSEL transceivers to keep network expenses low. Each core operates independently at wavelengths of 850nm or 1300nm, with attenuation rates suitable for short hauls (typically <3.5 dB/km at 850nm). This ensures consistent performance for bandwidth-intensive bidirectional tasks, such as real-time data backups (sending data to storage while verifying reception) or interactive video conferencing (transmitting video while receiving audio). The multi-mode design also remains flexible, making it easy to route through dense server racks or office cable management systems.

  Constructed for durability and usability, the dual-core cord features a flame-retardant jacket (LSZH or PVC) that resists abrasion and minor moisture exposure. The two internal fibers are color-coded (e.g., aqua for Tx, gray for Rx) to prevent misconnection, while connectors (LC-LC or SC-SC) use ceramic ferrules to maintain low insertion loss (<0.3dB) for both channels. The outer jacket is color-coded according to fiber grade (aqua for OM3/OM4, orange for 62.5/125um) for easy identification in mixed setups, and the cord complies with TIA/EIA-568-C.3 and IEC 61754-4 standards, ensuring compatibility with all multi-mode hardware.
