        Alibaba Guizhou Computer Center

        1. Data Center Scale and Layout Guizhou serves as a pivotal hub in China's "East Data West Computing" initiative, with Gui' an New Area having established an ultra-large data center cluster. Alibaba's presence in Guizhou primarily focuses on Guiyang and Zunyi, where its data centers utilize Alibaba Cloud's self-developed HAIL network architecture that emphasizes high availability, intelligent operations, and low latency. For instance, Alibaba Cloud's Hangzhou data center previously employed OM3 multimode fiber and Cat5e/Cat6 copper cables for high-speed connectivity. However, the specific cabling solutions for Guizhou's data centers may differ due to variations in scale and technological iterations.

        2. Server and Memory Configuration- **Server Count**: The data center scale of other leading enterprises in Guizhou can serve as a reference. For instance, China Telecom Cloud Computing Guizhou Information Park has already deployed over 100,000 servers with plans to reach 800,000 units in the future; Tencent's Gui' an Qixing Data Center has installed 300,000 servers. Although Alibaba has not disclosed specific figures, industry speculation suggests its Guizhou center might have hundreds of thousands of servers. - **Memory Capacity**: Alibaba Cloud database products support up to 4,096 GB per instance, but overall data center memory capacity depends on server cluster configurations. For example, the "Cloud-Guizhou" government platform achieved a 500TB memory resource pool through Alibaba Cloud technology, while enterprise-level data centers typically correlate their total memory capacity with server scale.

        3. Network Transmission Media- **Copper Cables**: Copper cables are typically used for short-distance interconnections within data centers (e.g., between servers in racks). According to industry standards, Category 6 (Cat6) and higher copper cables can support 10Gbps transmission with a single segment length not exceeding 100 meters. Alibaba may adopt high-spec copper cables in localized scenarios at its Guizhou Center to reduce costs and energy consumption. - **Optical Fibers**: Long-distance transmission (e.g., cross-rack or campus interconnections) relies on optical fibers. The total length of optical fiber lines in Guizhou Province has reached 2.157 million kilometers, while backbone networks between data centers generally utilize 400G all-optical transmission technology with latency below 20 milliseconds. Alibaba Cloud's HAIL architecture achieves high-density, low-latency fiber optic networking through self-developed optical interconnection equipment.

        4. Technical Features and Industry Trends- **Green Energy Efficiency**: Data centers in Guizhou predominantly utilize natural cooling sources (such as mountain caves and low-temperature environments) to reduce Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). For instance, Tencent Qixing Data Center employs mountain tunnel systems for constant-temperature cooling, while Alibaba Cloud has implemented liquid cooling technology in other regions to minimize energy consumption. - **Domestic Technology Adoption**: Guizhou is advancing the construction of China's largest domestically developed computing power cluster, aiming to deploy 600,000 intelligent computing chips by 2025. As a technology leader, Alibaba's Guizhou center is expected to play a significant role in this initiative.
