Copper Indium Gallium Selenide (CIGS) Photovoltaic Panels Customized
Copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) photovoltaic panels have the following characteristics:
High photoelectric conversion efficiency: The theoretical conversion efficiency can reach 33.4%, which is higher than the 29% of crystalline silicon solar cells. The highest conversion efficiency in the laboratory is 23.4%, and the conversion efficiency of mass-produced components is 16.5%, which ranks among the top in thin-film solar cells and has great room for development.
Significant cost advantage: The production process requires only 12 steps, which is simpler than the 18 steps required for crystalline silicon solar cells and consumes less energy. Its cost is only one-third that of crystalline silicon solar cells, and it also has significant cost advantages and reduction potential in terms of operating costs (opex) in large-scale manufacturing.
Lightweight and flexible: It can be deposited on flexible substrates such as stainless steel and polyimide film, resulting in lightweight photovoltaic panels that are bendable and can be easily applied to curved roofs, vehicle-mounted photovoltaics, outdoor equipment, and other scenarios. It is particularly suitable for photovoltaic building integration (BIPV) projects with high requirements for weight and flexibility.
High stability: Long-term outdoor stability tests have shown that CIGS photovoltaic panels are highly stable, have a long service life, and offer a short energy payback time. They also feature strong radiation resistance, making them suitable for use in special environments such as space.
Good low-light performance: Compared with some other photovoltaic technologies, CIGS photovoltaic panels perform well under low light conditions and at higher temperatures, enabling more efficient use of light resources.
Aesthetically pleasing and customizable: CIGS photovoltaic panels are black in color, aesthetically pleasing, and visually appealing, making them suitable for use in building facades and other applications where aesthetics are important. In addition, colored and patterned components can also be produced to meet the design needs of architects in different construction projects.
