Anti-lightning ADSS fiber optic cable is a specialized overhead optical transmission product developed for lightning-prone areas and high-voltage power line co-laying environments, solving the problems of lightning induction, surge impact and lightning strike damage that plague traditional communication cables in overhead transmission. Different from ordinary optical cables, this anti-lightning ADSS cable adheres to a full all-dielectric structural design, with no metal wires, metal armor or any conductive components in the whole cable body. This core design principle completely cuts off the induction path of lightning current and electromagnetic surge, so that the cable will not generate induced current or overvoltage when lightning strikes nearby or strong electromagnetic field fluctuates, fundamentally realizing passive lightning protection and ensuring the safety and stability of optical signal transmission in thunderstorm weather and complex electromagnetic environments.

The anti-lightning performance of overhead transmission ADSS cable is also optimized and upgraded in material and structural details. The outer sheath adopts high-density anti-corrosion and anti-lightning special polymer material, which has strong insulation performance, high breakdown voltage resistance and excellent anti-aging ability. It can resist the impact of lightning induced voltage, prevent surface breakdown and leakage current caused by lightning induction, and avoid cable insulation damage and signal interruption. The internal loose tube and filling structure are optimized with anti-strike technology, which can buffer the instantaneous impact force generated by nearby lightning strikes, prevent micro-bending and breakage of internal optical fibers, and maintain ultra-low signal attenuation stability. In addition, the cable’s self-supporting tensile structure is strengthened, which can resist the strong wind and vibration generated by thunderstorms, avoiding cable shaking and damage caused by extreme weather accompanying lightning.

In practical overhead transmission engineering, anti-lightning ADSS fiber optic cables are mainly used for overhead communication lines along high-voltage transmission lines, mountainous lightning-prone areas, suburban open overhead links and outdoor long-distance communication trunk lines. Traditional metal-containing optical cables are easily affected by lightning induction, resulting in signal jitter, disconnection and even cable burnout in thunderstorm weather, while anti-lightning ADSS cables can operate continuously and stably throughout the year, greatly reducing line failure rate and maintenance cost. It supports long-distance uninterrupted transmission of power communication signals, telecommunication data and monitoring signals, provides solid lightning protection guarantee for smart grid communication, outdoor monitoring networking and remote telecommunication transmission, and is a key special cable to ensure the reliability of overhead optical communication systems in complex meteorological and electromagnetic environments.
