ADSS fiber optic cable, fully known as All-Dielectric Self-Supporting fiber optic cable, is a special self-supporting aerial optical cable designed for overhead aerial wiring scenarios. As a fully dielectric structure cable without any metal conductors inside, it abandons the traditional metal wire reinforcement and external suspension wire matching mode, and relies on its own high-strength fiber reinforcement layer to realize self-supporting aerial laying. This unique structural design makes the cable free from the limitation of auxiliary suspension equipment, simplifying the aerial wiring process and greatly improving the efficiency of overhead network layout. It is specially developed for long-distance outdoor overhead wiring scenarios such as power line corridors, rural overhead lines, urban overhead communication lines, and cross-river and cross-road aerial wiring.
The self-supporting structural performance is the core feature of ADSS aerial fiber optic cable. The cable is equipped with high-strength aramid fiber reinforcement layers inside, which have extremely high tensile strength and mechanical toughness, and can independently bear the self-weight of the cable and the external load caused by wind, snow, ice and other bad weather. It can adapt to long-span aerial laying, with a single span reaching tens to hundreds of meters, effectively solving the wiring difficulties of complex terrain such as mountains, rivers, and open fields where pipeline burial and pole-mounted wiring are difficult. The fully dielectric structure makes the cable completely insulated, avoiding electromagnetic induction and electric shock risks caused by proximity to high-voltage power lines, and has excellent anti-electromagnetic interference ability, which can maintain stable signal transmission in complex electromagnetic environments of power grid corridors.
ADSS self-supporting aerial fiber optic cable has excellent outdoor environmental adaptability and long-term durability. The outer sheath adopts high weather-resistant polyethylene material, which has strong ultraviolet resistance, aging resistance, water resistance and temperature resistance, and can operate stably in extreme weather such as high temperature, low temperature, strong sunlight and rain erosion for a long time without performance attenuation or shell cracking. The compact and reasonable internal structure effectively protects the optical fiber core from mechanical extrusion, vibration and external impact damage, ensuring low loss and stable optical signal transmission. In terms of engineering application, the cable has simple laying procedures, low auxiliary engineering cost, and no need for metal suspension wires and complicated fixing accessories, which greatly reduces the construction cycle and overall engineering investment. It is widely used in power communication network construction, rural optical fiber access projects, urban overhead communication transformation, remote area network coverage, and cross-terrain long-distance optical fiber transmission engineering.
