Cat6 Network Patch Cord

The Cat6 (Category 6) network patch cord is a high-performance Ethernet cable designed to meet the growing demands of modern high-speed networks, offering superior signal integrity, higher bandwidth, and better interference resistance compared to Cat5e. Engineered to comply with strict ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and ISO/IEC 11801 standards, it is the preferred choice for environments that require consistent gigabit to multi-gigabit connectivity, such as large enterprises, data centers, and high-traffic office spaces where multiple devices operate simultaneously.

A key distinction of the Cat6 patch cord is its physical structure: it features four pairs of 23 AWG stranded copper conductors with a higher Twisted density (2 to 3 twists per inch) and a built-in plastic cross skeleton that separates each pair of conductors. This cross skeleton design effectively minimizes crosstalk and electromagnetic interference (EMI), ensuring that signals remain stable even in high-noise environments. The conductors are insulated with premium HDPE, and the outer jacket is thicker and more durable than Cat5e, often made of PVC or LSZH material to withstand physical stress, temperature variations, and chemical exposure.

The Cat6 patch cord supports a bandwidth of 250 MHz, which is 2.5 times that of Cat5e, and can transmit data at speeds of up to 1 Gbps over 100 meters, or up to 10 Gbps over shorter distances (up to 55 meters). It is compatible with all RJ45 connectors, though specialized Cat6 RJ45 connectors are recommended to accommodate the thicker conductors and maintain performance. This cable is ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications, including 4K video streaming, large file transfers, cloud computing, and Wi-Fi 6 access point backhaul. Its robust construction and future-proof performance make it a cost-effective investment for businesses looking to upgrade their network infrastructure and support emerging technologies.
