LC-LC fiber jumper is a high-performance optical jumper with LC (Lucent Connector) connectors on both ends, specifically designed for high-density, high-speed optical connections in modern communication systems. The LC connector, with a ferrule and sleeve diameter of only 1.25mm—half the size of traditional SC/FC connectors—enables higher connection density on fiber distribution frames, making it ideal for space-constrained environments such as data centers and equipment rooms. Equipped with an RJ-style latching mechanism, the LC connector allows for quick and easy plugging and unplugging, facilitating frequent equipment replacement and maintenance, which is crucial in dynamic network environments.
LC-LC fiber jumpers are available in both single-mode and multimode variants, each tailored to specific application scenarios. Single-mode LC-LC jumpers feature a yellow outer sheath and blue connectors, supporting long-distance transmission—up to 10km at 1310nm wavelength and 40km at 1550nm wavelength. They have low insertion loss (≤0.3dB for standard models, ≤0.12dB for ultra-low loss models) and high return loss (≥45dB for PC surface , ≥50dB for UPC surface , ≥65dB for APC surface ), making them suitable for metropolitan area networks, backbone networks, telecom operator core networks, and high-precision measurement equipment. Multimode LC-LC jumpers, identified by orange or gray outer sheaths and beige or black connectors, are designed for short-distance transmission (within 500 meters at 850nm wavelength), supporting high-speed transmission of up to 10Gbps over 300 meters with 50/125μm multimode fiber, ideal for data center internal interconnection, enterprise network equipment links, and smart home high-definition audio-visual transmission.
Key performance indicators of LC-LC fiber jumpers include insertion loss, return loss, repeatability, and environmental adaptability. High-quality jumpers support more than 1000 insertions and extractions, with an insertion loss variation of less than 0.2dB, ensuring long-term stability. The jumpers operate in a temperature range of -40℃ to 85℃, with a tensile strength of 45Kg (except for φ0.9SM fiber), enabling them to withstand harsh environmental conditions and mechanical stress. Bending-insensitive fiber (BIF) is often used to reduce bending loss, adapting to complex cabling environments. When selecting LC-LC jumpers, factors such as transmission distance, bandwidth requirements, end-face type (PC for general scenarios, UPC for high-quality transmission, APC for long-distance/high-precision applications), and sheath material (PVC for indoor use, LSZH for fire safety) should be considered. Compliant with ANSI/TIA/EIA-568 and Bellcore TA-NWT-001221/001209 standards, LC-LC fiber jumpers are widely recognized as the preferred choice for high-density, high-performance optical connections, driving the efficiency and reliability of modern communication networks.
