Fiber network patch cords, also known as optical fiber jumper cables, are core transmission mediums for modern high-speed optical network systems, completely different from traditional copper-core Ethernet patch cords. They use high-purity glass or plastic optical fibers as the transmission core, transmitting data through optical signal refraction and conduction, which fundamentally breaks through the speed and distance limitations of copper cables. Compared with copper patch cords, fiber network patch cords have ultra-low signal attenuation, supporting ultra-long-distance transmission from hundreds of meters to tens of kilometers without obvious speed loss, making them irreplaceable in long-distance network transmission scenarios.
Fiber network patch cords possess excellent anti-interference and security performance. Since optical signal transmission does not rely on current, they are completely immune to electromagnetic interference, radio frequency interference, and lightning interference, ensuring extremely stable network operation in industrial, outdoor, and high-electromagnetic-interference environments. In addition, optical fiber transmission does not generate electromagnetic radiation, and data signals are not easy to be intercepted and leaked, providing higher data security for enterprise private networks, communication base stations, and government network systems. The outer protective layer of fiber patch cords is made of high-strength wear-resistant materials, with good tensile, compression, and bending resistance.
These patch cords are divided into single-mode and multi-mode types to meet different usage needs. Single-mode fiber patch cords are suitable for long-distance, high-speed backbone network transmission, while multi-mode ones are used for short-distance indoor high-density wiring. They are widely applied in communication operator base stations, data center interconnection, campus and community backbone network construction, smart city engineering, and high-speed server connection. With the popularization of gigabit and 10-gigabit optical broadband, fiber network patch cords have become essential basic accessories for building high-speed, stable, and large-scale modern network systems.
